Bio

Duska is a passionate and empathetic Clinical Psychologist dedicated to fostering a sense of acceptance and understanding for every individual. Having relocated to Australia at the age of 7, Duska’s own immigrant journey sparked a profound commitment to inclusivity and meaningful connections. She believes that everyone deserves a safe and supportive space to explore their true selves, equipping them with the skills to take charge of their lives and create rich, meaningful lives that align with their values.

Duska has workerd in various settings, including universities, inpatient and outpatient hospital services, community services and private group practices. Beyond individual therapy, she has successfully led therapy groups for children, families, and adults. Duska also has a special interest in the evidence backed Gottman Couples Therapy Method, and is passionate about nurturing healthy relationships, guiding couples through challenges, and enhancing their overall connection.

Duska lived and worked in Malaysia for three years, where she further enriched her understanding of culturally sensitive practices in clinical work. Grounded in her own ethnic background, she is driven to ensure that individuals from all cultures and backgrounds have access to high-quality, evidence-based treatment.

Duska is an advocate for education and mental health destigmatization. Duska works with children, teenagers and adults, and has extensive expertise in addressing a range of presentating concerns. Her keen interest lies in anxiety disorders across the lifespan, and she particularly enjoys working with children who experience anxiety.

Duska also has experience working with high performers helping them navigate stress, perfectionism, and burnout, fostering resilience and mental well-being while empowering them to reach their professional goals while also sustaining a healthy work-life balance.

Beyond her professional achievements, Duska brings a vibrant energy to her practice, fostering an environment where clients not only find healing but also discover the joy of personal growth. Duska is an advocate for a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognizing the interconnected nature of mind, body, and spirit. By addressing the whole person, Duska empowers her clients to achieve a harmonious balance, fostering not only psychological resilience but also physical vitality and emotional fulfillment.

Duska provides oversight within The Talbot Centre of our supervision and training programs, both internally to support staff development, and externally to support workforce development and the professional and personal development of healthcare practitioners.

  • Bachelor of Psychology (Honours – 1st Class) – University of Newcastle
  • PhD/Master of Clinical Psychology – Macquarie University
  • Gottman Couple’s Therapy Level 2 Accredited
  • Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider
