Kavita is an empathetic and engaging clinician who is passionate about helping people thrive and become the people that they desire and have the potential to be. She takes a collaborative, strengths based, and client-centred approach to therapy. Kavita believes that the therapeutic relationship is key to achieving positive health outcomes. With the right support and motivation, clients are empowered to make the positive changes that they wish to make.

Kavita has worked with clients across the lifespan with a range of presenting concerns. Her prior experience includes working in private outpatient services and a rural university clinic. Kavita has a strong interest in supporting neurodivergent clients to achieve personally meaningful therapy goals and is a strong advocate of neurodiversity affirming apporaches. Kavita is also passionate about psychometric assessment (cognitive, neurodevelopmental, and academic assessments) to assist clients to learn more about themselves and to facilitate environmental supports that maximise each person’s capacity to participate meaningfully in the world.

Coming from a South-Asian background, Kavita understands the significant role of culture in shaping an individual and the unique challenges it can pose on one’s perception of and journey with mental health. As such, she is determined to take a non-judgemental and culturally sensitive approach to therapy, ensuring that every person feels safe and understood, and progressing through therapy at a pace that works for you and your child. Kavita is also able to fluently communicate in Tamil.
